Brighton-based mobile barber for neuro-divergent, disabled, queer and trans folk

I am a mobile barber which means I tend to work out of people’s own homes, but not everybody wants that or has the space for that. If that’s the case then I can work from home. Below are some photos of the space I work from – it’s a caravan. Me and my dad spent a few months rescuing and renevating it to become the beautiful little space it is now. It feels important to let people know that this is my home and home to my lovely housemates too therefore I need clients to respect the space as someone’s home, as I will respect the home of my clients. I am located in Bevendean, Brighton and will give the exact address to clients once they’ve booked.

I am located about a 3 minute walk from a bus stop. The walk from the bus stop includes an incline for part of it. The caravan is located in the front garden, just left of the front door. You have to walk over a stoney path to reach it. There is no basin or running water in the caravan so if you’re having a bleach or dye then you’ll need to use the shower inside the house. The bathroom is cleaned before clients and clean towels will be provided. The caravan has electricity and heating provided from an extention lead though I am looking to get electrics fitted inside the caravan soon. I do also cut hair in the house if the caravan is inaccessible or too cold or too hot.

The entrance of the caravan has a step up of 8 inches. The door is 20 inches wide and 62 inches high.

The main chair I use has a width of 18 inches by 16.5 inches and is 16 inches off the floor. If that chair is inaccessible I do have a second chair that I can use which has a width of 20 inches by 21 inches. This second chair has arms that go out diagnally which allows for more room. This second chair has a height of 14 inches from the floor.

I also have a medium sized dog called Obi. He’s 14 years old and has about 3 teeth left. Me and Obi are together most of the time but please let me know if you have any dog allergies or don’t feel comfortable around dogs and I can find someone else to look after him during the appointment. Obi will not be coming with me to mobile appointments.
